I went to a wedding recently where the videographer did not show up. No call, either. The only excuse is a major catastrophe or emergency. When I say major, I mean like, debilitating accident where you can’t call or worse, death. Even then, a true wedding professional should always have a back-up plan.
Unfortunately, when a photographer, caterer, or DJ bails on a wedding, it hurst the credibility of wedding professionals in general. The good ones spend years jumping through hoops trying to build a stellar reputation; their business depends on referrals. The lousy ones don’t last long anyway, but even in the short time they manage to do business, they can lower the trust worthiness of others in their field.
It’s no wonder couple’s spend an exorbitant amount of time researching vendors. Never having had to hire a videographer, band or chocolate fountain before, they scratch their heads wondering if the terms and rates they are given is fair. They want to make the right decision, after all.
The extra time and effort couple’s put into making sure they hire the best professionals will help insure that they won’t be stuck without a video that was supposed to capture all the special people and moments during the wedding day. Bride’s, don’t worry about asking too many questions, it’s in your rights. Vendors, keep providing the best service and you’ll set yourself apart from the rest.
